3:29Now PlayingThe World Health Organisation has appealed to China to keep releasing information about its wave of COVID-19 infections after the government announced nearly 60,000 deaths since early December following weeks of complaints it was failing to tell the world what was happening. Since the pandemic began in the city of Wuhan at the end of 2019, only 5,272 Covid deaths had been reported in China as of Saturday. Deaths as a result of Covid-related pneumonia or respiratory failure were the narrow definition of that metric. Those who died not only from Covid but also from other underlying illnesses were included in the new figure that was released on Saturday. Watch the video to know more in detail!
