7:02Now PlayingIn this episode of Mirror Metro, the host Shreya Dhoundial will be discussing how India may already have surpassed China as the world's most populous nation, which is a big milestone. The World Population Review (WPR) estimates that India will have 141.7 crore people by the end of 2022. According to official reports, that is just over 50 lakh more than the 141.2 crore figures China reported on January 17 when there was the first dip since the 1960s. The big economy of India, where 50% of the population is under 30, is predicted to grow at the quickest rate in the world. We are joined by a few panelists to express their views on this issue. "India has a large youth population. This is an opportunity for India to start planning for the young population and skilling them," says Poonam Muttreja, ED - Population Foundation India.
