French government has raised the retirement age for most people from 62 to 64. The increase in retirement age is compulsory for the people who want a full pension. France trade unions called for a mass mobilisation after the mega decision on January 19. This was the first-time trade unions have united since 2011 when the retirement age was increased from 60 to 62. French unions have also announced new strikes and protests on January 31.
