3:13Now PlayingThe CBI's plea contesting the Bombay High Court's decision granting bail to former Maharashtra home minister and NCP leader Anil Deshmukh in a corruption case involving alleged illegal payoff from bar owners and corruption in police transfers and postings in Maharashtra was dismissed by the Supreme Court on Monday. The CBI's special leave petition was denied by a bench made up of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice V Ramasubramanian, and JB Pardiwala. The bail granted in the PMLA case was upheld, the Chief Justice of India informed Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta at the commencement. The bench explicitly said that the observations made by the High Court are limited to the issuance of bail and will not affect the trial while dismissing the petition.
