30:21Now PlayingIn this episode of Beyond The Headline, the host Tamanna Inamdar will be discussing how After being greeted by thousands of supporters waving the Congress flag and chanting "Jodo, jodo Bharat jodo" and "Chhodo, chhodo nafrat chodo," Rahul Gandhi could only travel a short distance on his Bharat Jodo Yatra before it was abandoned for the day owing to an alleged security breach. The police refuted the claim made by the Congress that they failed to provide Rahul and others with proper security. They asserted that the party officials left the Yatra without informing the police. The Yatra had entered Qazigund from Banihal and had a 16-kilometer walk to Anantnag. Omar Abdullah, the head of the National Conference, joined Rahul at Banihal. Both men were wearing white T-shirts. But the two leaders and their advisers were surrounded and pushed around by a crowd as soon as the yatris left the Banihal tunnel connecting Jammu to Kashmir. A few panelists join us. “It's more of law and order issue than a security threat. The ropeline strategy that is adopted during such yatras broke when a huge crowd came,” says Yashovardhan Jha Azad, Former IPS Officer. “Instead of ensuring due diligence the BJP is questioning the nature of allegations. They've time and again tried to stop the yatra," APS Khadial, Congress Spokesperson.
