1:53Now PlayingThe Maharashtra Police Department has filed a murder case against a local land dealer who was arrested in connection with the death of a journalist. Pandharinath Amberkar, a land dealer, was arrested for the murder of Shashikant Warishe, who was killed by an SUV in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district on Tuesday. Warishe's two-wheeler was hit by an SUV allegedly driven by Amberkar at a petrol pump in Rajapur while he was writing for the Marathi newspaper Mahanagari Times. The shocking incident occurred just hours after Warishe's report on the proposed Ratnagiri Refinery and Petrochemical project was published in a local newspaper. Warishe claimed Amberkar was involved in illegal land grabs and threatened residents to oppose the construction of the oil refinery.
