2:12Now PlayingRescue operations still continue even 4 days after the deadly earthquake stuck in parts of Turkey and Syria. Rescue teams and local people are trying to find out people from the debris and cold climate making the rescue even more difficult. On Friday, rescuers pushed to find survivors as the death toll from the massive earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria surpassed 20,700. Tens of thousands of people have been injured or displaced. On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoan continued his tour of the devastated areas. He attempted to deflect criticism of the response by claiming that it was improving. He reaffirmed to earthquake survivors that destroyed homes would be rebuilt within a year. He stated that the government will give affected families 10,000 Turkish lira (USD 532). The world bank will also provide $1.78 billion dollars to turkey.
