This is his first arrest in the LIFE Mission case and his third arrest related to the 2020 diplomatic luggage gold smuggling investigation. The retired IAS officer has been questioned by the ED for the past three days. On Tuesday night, about 11 p.m., the arrest was made. The issue involves a project of the state government's LIFE Mission programme that aims to construct homes for 140 households in Wadakkanchery in the Thrissur district using $14.5 million of the $18.5 million in funding provided by the Red Crescent through the UAE consulate.
