4:41Now PlayingWith a 69.9% voter turnout up until 3 PM, the Tripura Assembly election voting was completed amid strict security. In order to oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from office in the northeastern state, arch foes Congress and CPI-M have banded together. The Left-Congress coalition and TIPRA Motha, the newest regional party in the state, are competing against the ruling BJP and its alliance partner Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) in this three-way race. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha was one of the early leaders to cast his vote. The first incidence of polling violence was reported from Kalacherra in south Tripura district. A CPI supporter was allegedly attacked by the goons. Now the CPI-M is alleging that BJP's hand behind all this. An F.I.R. has been registered at Shantirbaazar police station and the information has also been sent to the Election Commission office. To learn more watch the entire video!
