Senior Tambe was suspended by the party over his alleged involvement in the Nashik graduates constituency scam. In contrast, Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP's Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) chose to back independent Shubhagi Patil for the Nashik seat and Congress nominee Sudhakar Adbele for the Nagpur teachers constituency.
