Several others were even observed standing on a basket of onions. The incident took place on the second day of the Maharashtra Budget Session. In a video from the Maharashtra Assembly shows a number of opposition figures yelling slogans in favour of fair prices for grapes, onions, cotton, and soybeans, among others. The cost of onion has dropped to between 2 and 4 rupees per kilogram in the state. For the past three to four days, farmers have been protesting across Maharashtra, especially in Nashik.
