10:27Now PlayingIn this episode of Beyond The Headline, the host Tamanna Inamdar will discuss how following record-breaking temperatures in February, India's weather service has predicted a heatwave for most parts of the country from March to May. The Indian Meteorological Department said that the country's monthly average maximum temperature for February was the highest since 1901. The minimum monthly average temperature for February was the seventh highest since 1901. According to the report, temperatures in the central and northwest regions are projected to be above average during the next three months while those in the south peninsula will see normal to below-average minimum temperatures. In most areas of the nation, March's maximum temperatures will also be above average, the department predicted in a release. A heat wave will not likely occur over central India in March, though. We are joined by a few panelists who will be expressing their views on this issue. “Condition in Uttarakhand, Himalayas & so on... all this is unusual. We need to look at these as climate events,” says Environmentalist Vimlendu Jha. Listen In!
