30:38Now PlayingIn this episode of The Urban Debate, host Samia Kapoor will discuss how in a show of protest against WFI president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over charges of sexual harassment, wrestlers gathered in Haridwar on Tuesday and immersed their medals in the Ganga. Farmer leader Naresh Tikait was present. He stole the wrestlers' medals and demanded a five-day period. The protesting wrestlers have already departed Haridwar's Har Ki Pauri. They have given the Centre a five-day deadline to take action against Brij Bhushan Singh, or they will return. The medals were taken by Naresh Tikait with him. The medals won't be submerged in the Ganga until after the stipulated time. The top wrestlers in the nation, including Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat, and Bajrang Punia, travelled to Har ki Pauri earlier in the day to dip their medals in the Ganga river. As the protesting wrestlers prepared to submerge their Olympic and world medals in the holy waters, a sizable audience gathered at Har ki Pauri. Numerous fans had gathered in a circle around Sakshi, Vinesh, and her cousin Sangeeta as they were spotted weeping as their husbands sought to comfort them. After arriving to Har ki Pauri, the wrestlers remained there in silence for nearly 20 minutes. We are joined by a few panelists expressing their views on this issue. “If a case is registered under POCSO Act then accused (Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh) has to be arrested immediately. Why hasn't that happened in this case?” stated Kirti Azaad, Ex-cricketer.
