8:33Now PlayingIn this episode of The Urban Debate, host Nivedhana Prabhu will discuss how tigers are dying. In fact, six cheetahs have died at Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park so far. Three cubs and three adults. The latest tragedy is a big blow to the Cheetah Reintroduction Project. Now conservationists are worried. They have reiterated that India is not the land of cheetahs. Now the government must consult think-tanks and relocate them. But the government is yet to take a decision on cheetah relocation. Meanwhile, the government has constituted a cheetah project's stirring panel to review, progress, monitor and advise on the reintroduction plan. On the other hand, it is also set to reintroduce seven cheetahs at the Kuno National Park. Now seven more cheetahs including two females will be released into the wildlife by third week of June. The officials have said there is no reason to worry and that everything is normal. Now the cheetah panel chief has also decided to not fence their habitat like the ones in South Africa and Namibia as it is against the basic tendence of wildlife conservation. We are joined by a few panelists expressing their views on this issue. "See the death of so many cheetahs particularly two adult and three cubs. It is a matter of big concern," stated Ajay Suri, Wildlife Expert.
