Top News | In conjunction with the investigation into the suspected foreign sponsorship of the news portal NewsClick, a special cell of the Delhi Police conducted house raids on at least six journalists on Tuesday. According to reports, the raids are being conducted in relation to a complaint that was apparently filed on August 17 under the strict Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and other parts of the Indian Penal Code. The police said that thus yet, no arrests have been made. The ED is looking into the "fraudulent" injection of over 86 crore in foreign monies into the business that operates the platform. The investigating agency had an apartment in Saket, New Delhi, that was connected to NewsClick editor-in-chief Prabir Purkayashta, attached in August.
