This brought the total number of deceased patients at the hospital in 48 hours to 31, according to the District Information Office (DIO) in Nanded, which is some 280 km away. Prior to this, between September 30 and October 1, 24 fatalities were recorded at Nanded's Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital in a 24-hour period.
