Although it is believed that the flash floods were caused by the cloudburst, experts have something else to say. Some experts who have reportedly visited the disaster site claim that cloudbursts cannot cause these type of flash floods. The NDRF team is carrying out rescue operations. So far, they have managed to rescue seven people. 23 Jawans have been missing, and now the rescue operation is underway. "This disaster has been caused due to poor construction of dams & roads in the state. Situation is getting worse everyday.", says Bikash Basnet, Press Secretary, Sikkim CM.
