Nov 14, 20231:57Now PlayingAs per the latest news, the Hapmi temple was disfigured. Virupaksha temple pillar nailed. When Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the Virupaksheshwar Temple in Hampi on November 2, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) sent a notification to the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department over drilling and nailing a pillar of the temple.
The notice claimed that the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains (Amendment and Validation) Act was broken by the department under the state government's control when it modified the heritage temple structure, a centrally protected monument, without ASI's consent.
