as posted by the channelTop News | Following a meeting of all parties on Sunday, January 21, 34 members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly passed a number of motions, one of which demanded the cancellation of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement with the militants. The resolution declared that the primary cause of the never-ending cycle of violence is the SoO agreements with the armed militant groups and the impunity it affords them from a robust response from central troops. The resolution declared that the SoO agreement should not be extended until its expiration date of February 29 with other militant organisations that engage in anti-state actions.
