The plea claimed that the aforementioned notification required a married woman to submit a copy of her identification proof and mobile number, along with a company decree of divorce or a NOC certificate from her husband stating that he has no objections to her using her maiden surname. The petition also claimed that the impugned notice breaches the Petitioner's basic rights as guaranteed by Articles 14, 19, and 21 of the Indian Constitution and is blatantly discriminatory, arbitrary, and unjustified.
