as posted by the channelFollowing his resignation today, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay of the Calcutta High Court announced his intention to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. During a press conference held in Kolkata at 2:30 PM today, Gangopadhyay stated that the only national party capable of defeating the Trinamool Congress was the BJP. He said that his religious beliefs prevented him from joining the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and that the Congress was dynastic in character, pushing out experienced and capable leaders like Jairam Ramesh. When asked if he planned to run in the Lok Sabha elections, he responded, "I can't say that." The BJP's top leadership will make the final decision on this.
