The investigation of the January 5 attack on Enforcement Directorate officers in Sandeshkhali, North 24 Parganas district, would also be taken up by the CBI. The incident took place when ED investigators raided Sheikh Shahjahan's Sandeshkhali home as part of an investigation into an alleged multi-crore ration distribution scheme. Shahjahan is charged with encouraging the crowd to assault the ED personnel.
