Ahmedabad Police detained two people in relation to the matter only hours after state home minister Harsh Sanghavi allegedly talked with Gujarat's senior police commanders and instructed them to guarantee a fair investigation. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, individuals responsible for the attacks on the international students would face harsh consequences. The ministry is in communication with the government of Gujarat.
