Footage filmed on Friday shows protesters setting photos of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and US President Donald Trump ablaze, while hoisting signs that read, 'Resistance is a weapon of honour.' The protesters were seen navigating the streets on foot and on motorcycles at night. The unrest in Beirut erupted just two days after the Lebanese government pushed for inclusion in a broader ceasefire, firmly asserting that they "will not accept anyone negotiating on our behalf." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the move, directing his cabinet to begin direct negotiations with Beirut "as soon as possible." The fragile truce between Iran, the United States, and Israel is already fracturing over the situation in Lebanon.
