Footage shows fireworks rising above lower Manhattan and filling the sky as crowds watch from waterfront areas in New York and New Jersey.
The display was part of Independence Day celebrations across the United States as the country marked 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. Macy's said this year's show also included pyrotechnics staged at more than 200 points between the Brooklyn Bridge's main towers.
The Independence Day fireworks display was one of the centrepieces of celebrations, drawing spectators to riverside viewing points as New York held one of its most recognisable annual events. A brief fire on the Manhattan-bound side of the Brooklyn Bridge broke out after the display, according to local media. No injuries were reported.
