0:31Now PlayingA time-lapse video provided by the National Weather Service shows how quickly visibility deteriorated in New York City Wednesday.
The clip, posted on Twitter, shows a fairly clear city skyline around 11 a.m., before it becomes less and less visible until the skyscrapers are almost impossible to see at 2 p.m.
“Check out this almost unbelievable time-lapse of wildfire smoke consuming the World Trade Center and the New York City skyline,” the NWS tweeted.
“Those vulnerable to poor air quality, including seniors and young children, should limit time outdoors if possible.”
