3:19Now PlayingArmenian News - NEWS.am presents the daily digest of Armenia-related top news as of 11.02.2021:
Four Armenian soldiers' bodies have been found in Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh].
A forensic medical examination has been ordered on these bodies.
A total of 1,371 bodies have been retrieved so far during these search and rescue operations.
Armenia ombudsman said the Azerbaijani soldiers, flags, signs on Armenia's Syunik roads must be ruled out.
According to Arman Tatoyan, they have appeared there at the expense of gross violations of the rights of civilians and the military of Armenia and Artsakh; ethnic cleansing and the mass destruction of peaceful settlements, continuing institutional hatred of Armenians, torture and inhuman treatment, illegal detention of captives, and ongoing threats of a new war.
There are heated discussions over the controversial David Bek - Goris road of Armenia's Syunik province which is now bordering Azerbaijan following the Nagorno-Karabakh war agreements.
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan - under the pressure of the opposition MP during the parliament session - confessed that there is another agreement with Azerbaijan.
Armenian FM Ara Aivazian, in turn, noted that he was not briefed on some additional documents with Azerbaijan.
He told reporters that he knew only about two documents - from November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021.
In fact, all the nation knew about the two-above mentioned documents, while the authorities have been opposing any secret agreements.
The Armenian opposition is getting more active following Armenian Deputy PM Tigran Avinynan's statement, the opposition initiates the nationwide rally.
Opposition movement candidate for PM Vazgen Manukyan calls for a rally at Liberty Square in Yerevan on Friday.
"Yesterday it also became known that there is a secret document, according to which the borders of Syunik and the communications passing through it are determined to the detriment of Armenia," he noted. "Do not wait for the steps of political parties. All national political forces stand with you, but you decide the future of the country."
"We are losing our Homeland right before our eyes," he added.
In an interview with Turan news agency, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Wolfgang Maning made a number of noteworthy statements.
In particular, the ambassador noted that Germany was opposed to the settlement of the conflict by force, and recalled Berlin's calls for the parties to maintain a humanitarian ceasefire in accordance with international humanitarian law.
However, the ambassador's next statement raises many questions: "In this regard, we sincerely welcome the statements of the Azerbaijani authorities that Baku is ready for economic cooperation with Yerevan and that the Armenians living in Karabakh are highly estimated citizens of Azerbaijan," the Ambassador stressed.
To note, the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh are not citizens of Azerbaijan, a country that systematically carries out ethnic cleansing against Armenians and incites hatred against Armenians.
