She ARGUED for Abortion. Then I Asked Her One Question.

A young liberal woman joined my live to argue that rape victims should have the right to abort. She was born because her mother was raped. I had one question.

She opened by saying her biggest political concern is female rights, specifically, that Trump released Project 2025 to ban contraceptives. I told her Project 2025 came from the Heritage Foundation, not Trump. She said: "Okay. That's my fault."

Then we got into abortion. She said if a woman is raped, it should be her choice. I told her I'm pro-life but agree on medical emergencies if the mother's life is at risk, an abortion should happen. But I asked her: outside of that, what exactly does an abortion do for a rape victim that going through with the birth and giving the baby up for adoption doesn't?

She said foster care is dangerous. I said: so we should fix foster care, not just kill the babies because the system is broken. She said abortion is safer for the child. I said: one option is a 100% certainty that the child ceases to exist. The other is a risk of a hard early life. I'd take the risk over the certainty every time. I was adopted. I'd much rather be alive.

Then I asked her the question she couldn't get away from. She told me her mother was raped, which is why she was born. I asked: are you still happy you're alive?

She said: "Sometimes, yes."

I moved on. Then I trapped her. She said abortion is justified because it's her body, her choice. I asked: should we punish a pregnant woman for smoking two packs a day? She said yes. I asked: why? It's her body. She said it harms the baby. I said: so you just admitted the embryo can be harmed by an outside action. How is abortion different, except that abortion is worse?

She had no answer.

She also told me that when her father raped her at 13 or 14, he would have gotten a misdemeanor. I looked it up live. Forcible rape is a felony in all 50 states. I told her if there's a loophole somewhere that I'm not seeing, it absolutely should be fixed. And I meant it.

She said America has done nothing for her. I asked if she'd rather have been born in Afghanistan. She said no because women there can't finish school, can't show their face, have no rights. I said: so wouldn't you say you're pretty lucky to be born here? She said given her upbringing, no.

I ended the conversation where I started it. She's sometimes happy to be alive. That's enough for me.
