She Said the Quran Doesn't Say That. I READ It to Her Face.

A 20-year-old Muslim man joined my live shouting "Free Palestine." I asked him one question: free Palestine from what?

He said Israel shouldn't exist because if it didn't exist, none of this would have happened. I told him there was a massacre in Hebron in 1929, before the State of Israel even existed, where Arabs went into a hostel and slaughtered 67 Jews (men, women, and children) in their sleep. He had nothing to say.

He called what's happening a genocide. I told him the word genocide has a specific legal definition the special intent to destroy an entire protected group. According to Hamas's own numbers, Israel has killed about 73,000 people out of a population of 2.2 million. That's 3%. If Israel wanted to destroy an entire people and had the military power to do it, 3% doesn't add up. He said: "Yeah, but still." I said: that's not genocide, that's war.

Then I gave him the math he couldn't answer. Israel has damaged or destroyed over 80% of the buildings in Gaza. But if the death toll is only 3%, why are those two numbers so different? The only explanation is that Israel was getting people out of those buildings before hitting them. He said: "You do have a point."

He told me October 7th might be a lie. I told him Hamas recorded it themselves on GoPros. There are videos. He said: "I feel like I just need to get more educated."

I asked him again: what do you want to free Palestine from? He said: basically, stop the war.

Then his friend jumped in and said Islam doesn't have anything against Jews. I told her the Quran says not to take Jews or Christians as allies — and if you do, you become one of them. I read her Sahih Bukhari: the last hour will not come until every Muslim fights and kills the Jews, and they will hide behind stones and trees. I read her Surah 9 live: "Once the sacred months are over, kill the polytheists wherever you find them, arrest them, besiege them, lie in wait at every site of ambush." I read her Surah 9:29, that Allah will strike down Jews and Christians and a terrible punishment awaits them.

She said: "That's a different Quran."

I said: what do you mean it's a different Quran? It's the Quran. These are the words of Allah. I just read it.

She had no answer.
