In just one day, the team logged over 30 whale sightings—critical data points guiding our scientists collecting environmental DNA (eDNA) to study biodiversity in this uncharted region.
From aerial observations to genomic analysis, this work helps us better understand whale movement, feeding behavior, and ocean ecosystem function in one of the most dynamic regions of the Pacific Ring of Fire.
