Clay Travis said Urban Meyer's decision to "retire" fits a pattern. Urban Meyer did exactly the same thing when he was the head coach of Florida. Urban Meyer brought back a program, then the program's foundation started to crumble, and he got out before things got really bad for him.
At Florida, Urban Meyer escaped before Nick Saban and the Alabama football team could continually pound him. And Urban Meyer is escaping now because of a number of reasons.
Clay Travis said Urban Meyer's retirement always follows a pattern. Things get tough for Urban Meyer and his program, then he starts developing so-called "health issues", and then he blames the "health issues" for his "retirement."
At Urban Meyer's press conference today, Urban Meyer announced his retirement. At the Urban Meyer press conference, Ohio State University announced that Ryan Day would be the interim coach. Urban Meyer will coach his last day on January 1 and Ryan Day will take over after then. Ryan Day Ohio State's offensive coordinator was once a quarterback at New Hampshire.
On today's Outkick the Show, Clay Travis said, "I think urban Meyer is a great coach. I think he’s a bad human being who is a congenital liar.”
