If you lose your case in immigration court, you still have options — and the Board of Immigration Appeals is the next step. But that process is about to get significantly harder. A proposed rule change would slash the filing window from thirty days down to just a few days, and would make it easier for the BIA to dismiss appeals without giving them serious review. ⚠️ A lawsuit is currently pending to block or delay these changes, so the situation is still developing. But even if the new rules take effect, filing an appeal will still be possible — it will just require moving fast. 📋 Here’s something worth knowing: if you do receive a deportation order, your strongest shot may actually come at the next level. Federal courts of appeals tend to be more objective and more willing to take a hard look at the merits than the BIA. Don’t assume the fight is over. ⚖️ For help with your asylum case, send the word “CONSULT” to me in a direct message.
