as posted by the channelMays teaches economics at California State, Long Beach, but, like Henry Folger (1857-1930), president and chairman of Standard Oil, her heart belongs to Shakespeare. Her book looks back to 1623 when the playwright’s friends gathered thirty-six of the late Bard’s plays and published them in what became the First Folio—and Folger’s Holy Grail. Folger eventually acquired 82 of the 233 extant copies, part of the collection he donated to the nation as the library that bears his name.
