Maisie’s twelfth case begins in London, when the secret service asks her to meet a British citizen being released from prison in Germany. The Germans insist that the Englishman be accompanied home by a family member, and since Maisie bears a strong resemblance to his dead daughter, she’s chosen to impersonate her. But it’s 1938, and Germany is under Nazi control. To complicate things further, the man Maisie believes is responsible for her husband’s death also has something to ask of her.
