as posted by the channel

A Rhode Island Senator since 2007, Whitehouse has been a leading voice in the fight to curb corporate influence in politics. His book, based on a series broadcast by Rhode Island Public Radio, tells readers what it’s like to be targeted by big spenders such as the Koch brothers, and what it takes to resist their coercion. As for what it will take truly to reform government, Whitehouse uses history and legal scholarship to put the present and future in context. Looking back to the founders, he notes that the political system has long been vulnerable to outside influence, and he proposes reforms to change that.
