YouTube Description
as posted by the channelToday we are joined by Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, and former leader of the Labour party, Ed Miliband.
As Miliband prepared to jet off to Belém, he sat down to speak to us about the continued importance of summits such as COP, in ensuring the securing of climate justice for some of the world's most vulnerable states.
Miliband also defended the government's current climate strategy, stressing the importance of pressing ahead with decarbonising the British energy sector and looking forward into a world with more green jobs, rather than looking back and reopening oil, gas, and coal plants.
He also debunked the arguments of Nigel Farage and the right of British politics, who continue to call for the reopening of coal mines across the country and scoff at net zero strategies across the globe. The Energy Secretary explains that the plans are not only unfeasible, but they are unpopular.
