23:17Now PlayingWATCH Shame and Guilt in Narcissists, Their Victims
Envy: desire to possess, impotence, anger
Envy in DSM, but no shame
Klein: Primal envy extends even to the internalized good object and wishes to annihilate it.
Envy is a clinical feature in both overt and covert narcissism which serves to prove their compensatory nature: one doesn’t envy one’s inferiors.
Envy gives rise to shame and thence to both internalized and externalized aggression and sadism: people are perceived as frustrating and victimizing when they refuse to conform to their assigned inferior roles in the narcissistic narrative.
The only way to ameliorate the envy is to destroy them – and oneself.
