In today’s episode of Figuring Out, we have Tanveer Ahmed Mir in conversation with Raj Shamani. With over 26 years of hands-on experience, he is India’s top Criminal Defence Lawyer. He has fought cases like Aarushi Talwar Murder Case, Unnao Rape Case and more.
In this episode, we talked about if he has ever defended a guilty person, his perspective of defending criminals, and strategies he uses to defend them. He shared a heartbreaking case of his friend Priyadarshini, how she was raped and murdered and how he was the only witness who went to the court and fought for justice. He then shared Unnao Rape Case, the entire story and how he fought it. Further, he shared many sensitive cases from his career and what goes into fighting those cases.
Towards the end, we talked about a lithium poisoning case where a husband killed almost the entire family of his wife to take revenge and how it unfolded at the end. We then talked about road accidents and how those cases are fought. We ended our conversation with talking about what top criminal defence lawyers and average criminal defence lawyers earn in a year.
