Do Sane Republicans Still Exist? Jim Gilmore, GOP Presidential Candidate

2016 presidential candidate, and former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore is the kind of conservative to whom a younger, more diverse America can listen. TYT reporter Jordan Chariton sat down with Gov. Gilmore in the Raddison Hotel in Manchester, NH. Gov. Gilmore touted his 21st century leadership while serving as governor and attorney general of Virginia, leading the fight to stop a rash of radical white terrorism targeting African American churches, and decoupling the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday from a retaliatory holiday for Confederate general Robert E. Lee (which remains in place in many Southern states today).

When Donald Trump proposed banning Muslims from entering the United States, Gov. Gilmore was the first candidate to come out publicly and say "that's fascist talk," and he has a track record going back decades of trying to update conservative rhetoric and conservative policies to appeal to the America we are becoming, rather than limited the access of 21st century voters to the polls and gerrymandering districts to diminish their influence on state legislatures and the US House. — @EricByler
