11:17Now PlayingBrian Lilley of TheRebel.Media reports, a column last week by a purported Conservative suggested that if the Conservatives want to win again, they'll need to ditch the social conservatives.
Soon, the party will start the process of selecting a new leader so I thought this would be a good time to speak with Ian Brodie, Canadian political scientist and former Chief of Staff in Stephen Harper's Prime Minister's Office until 2008 and a man at the centre of the early years of the Harper government.
Ian was there with Harper from the beginning until after uniting the right and shortly after winning government in 2006, so I sat down with Ian to discuss his rebuttal to the column and general ideas about the Conservative movement in Canada.
