5:22Now PlayingBrian Lilley of TheRebel.Media reports, the first act of the Liberals was to say that they would raise taxes on high income earners and their second was to say that they would re-instate the mandatory long-form census which the Harper government did away with in 2010.
Those who objected to the changes made by the Harper government rarely mention that what the government did was change the "mandatory" part which could result in jail time for non-compliance. They instead made completion of the form voluntary.
The Minister who announced the return of this anti-liberty measure, Navdeep Bains, has so far avoided answering a direct question about whether or not this would mean that non-compliance could result in jail time.
Absent a direct "yes" or "no" answer to this simple question, it's hard not to come to the conclusion that these Liberals are the furthest thing from "liberal".
