So the CBC has announced that, effective immediately, they refuse to allow any viewer comments on any stories involving Aboriginal issues.
I have no doubt that there are racist comments posted on the CBC’s websites. We try to clean up the worst stuff on our comment threads on The Rebel, too. But the CBC isn’t just banning obscene comments:
"Some comments are clearly hateful and vitriolic, some are simply ignorant.”
So you have to pass some sort of official test as judged by the CBC, before you can comment on the website you help pay for?
Oh, by the way, this obviously applies to Aboriginal commenters too. The CBC will quote millionaire chiefs but no comments allowed by grassroots Indians.
The CBC claims "we draw the line on hate speech and personal attacks.” But what do they call Mary Walsh's "Stasi Steve" routine, to cite just one example?
No, the CBC doesn’t want dissent.
