Igal Hecht of TheRebel.Media reports:
Turkish President Erdogan accused Russia of slander on Wednesday over Moscow’s allegations that Ankara had purchased oil from the Islamic State jihadists in Syria.
Erdogan denied the allegations prompting Russia’s defence Minister to make a statement indicating they had proof that Erdogan and his family were benefitting from ISIS holding territory in Syria and Iraq.
Russian officials pointed out that the bombing campaigns conducted by the Russian Air Force had made a dent in the Islamic State’s ability to produce, refine and sell oil.
Erdogan has been accused by various leaders around the world of turning a blind eye to what ISIS is doing in Syria and Iraq.
