Power Brief: New York City Bans Gas, Imposes Regressive Energy Tax On Low-Income Consumers

On December 15, New York City became the biggest city in the U.S. to ban the use of natural gas in new buildings. The move was done it the name of climate change, but it will impose a regressive energy tax on consumers by requiring them to use electricity for cooking and heating even though it costs almost twice as much as natural gas.
