0:40Now PlayingRoland Martin’s original challenge was to raise $10,000 in 24 hours for the Harriet Tubman Museum and Educational Center following its break-in.
The RMU family surpassed that goal, with 324 donors raising $16,163.
Roland is now challenging the audience to reach $50,000 by Monday so the museum can quickly hire a contractor, repair its damaged door and murals and install security cameras.
But the campaign will not end there.
Once the $50,000 target is reached, Roland says the next mission will be to raise at least $500,000 over the next 12 to 18 months so the museum can build an economic cushion and operate from a stronger financial position.
Donate at HarrietTubmanMuseumCenter.org and enter #RolandMartinUnfiltered in the “Donate in the name of” field so your gift is counted toward the RMU campaign.
