“Pure Unadulterated Racism”: Roland Rips Trump’s Despicable Attack on Somali Immigrants

Donald Trump attacked Somali immigrants by describing Somalia as a failed country and claiming Somali people are “not smart,” have “no aptitude” and have “nothing going.” Roland Martin calls it “pure unadulterate racism.”

Randi Bryant says declaring an entire group of people intellectually inferior is eugenics and “the foundation of white supremacist” thinking. She blasts Trump as a “jackass” and says his own inability to communicate makes his attack on Somali intelligence even more disgusting.

Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali points out that many Somali people speak multiple languages and rejects Trump’s portrayal of African immigrants as inferior. He also points to exploitation, illegal fishing, extraction and destabilization affecting African countries, then says Trump “wants to paint them as less than” and “knows it sells” to his base.

Mustafa calls Trump “an absolute racist, a bigot” and says he is bringing forward racist ideals while fearing “the browning of America.” He closes by telling Somali brothers and sisters to continue doing what they do.
