The initial accusation started with a Facebook post to a private Springfield, Ohio group by a resident named Erika Lee. This post was then screenshotted by a twitter user named @buckeyegirrl. This was then picked up by a Twitter account “EndWokeness” (more in him here). The accusation was later amplified by Ohio senator and Vice Presidential Candidate JD Vance. It is possible that during debate prep, one of former President Trump’s aids gave him incorrect information about Springfield.
Pet abduction doesn’t seem to be happening in Springfield and Haitian culture does not view dogs and cats as food.
