Dr. Déry tells us what he’d like to think the CDC does from his perspective as an epidemiologist, but then he tell us what he thinks the CDC is actually doing from his perspective as a normal human being who is capable of seeing what is going on.
Dr. Déry thinks that the CDC made the “mask off” recommendation too soon. He thinks they waited too long to tell the public that Covid-19 was airborne. He knows that they must have waited too long to tell the public that there was a low risk of outdoors transmission for a long time after they already knew.
Sam asks a very interesting question: WHY? Why is the CDC withholding information from the public that could stop the spread of the pandemic and then suddenly telling people to stop wearing masks at a time that seems possibly a little premature to many experts?
Dr. Déry can only answer in one way: I don’t know.
