Bush Staffer Gives INCREDIBLE Take On Biden's Afghanistan Withdrawl

George W. Bush's former communications director, Nicolle Wallace, just said what no one else in the media is saying about Biden's Afghanistan withdrawal. On MSNBC she said that 95% of Americans will be relieved by his decision to pull out, but that 95% of the White House press pool will disagree. What does that say about the media, when 95% of the American people think something is good, but the same ratio of pundits think it's bad? American's are exhausted by the never-ending wars. The war in Afghanistan has lasted 20 years, and the Iraq War is almost the same. The American people have had enough, but the press is hell-bent on the War on Terror continuing.

Sam Seder: Here's Nicole Wallace who was George Bush's communications director on MSNBC. Certainly spent some time messaging that war. Here is her response to Biden’s speech. And it's let's hear it.

Nicole Wallace: 95% of the American people will agree with everything he just said. 95% of the press covering this white house will disagree. And for an American president to finally be completely aligned with such an overwhelming majority of what the American people think about Afghanistan, is probably a tremendous relief to the American people.

Emma Vigeland: Great take!

Sam: Well I mean I think that's I mean I do think that is I think that's true. I think they're you know I’d like to be a little bit more like a reflection on the other part of that calculation that she made. Which I think she's right.

Emma: She's passively analyzing it.

Sam: You're right but I think she's right about the 95% of the press we'll have an issue with it and I think that we should maybe stop and marinate on that a little bit.

Emma: With the objective press.

Sam: Well I mean what she's saying there in terms of the white house press. Like I mean like why is that? Like you know what why aren't why isn't the next week or two of shows focused on the idea that the American public wants out. The President of the United States wants out. But 95% of the press covering the White House have an issue with that. What's like that to me seems like you know we should have a couple of specials.

Matt: That explains how we got into this sort of mess.

Sam: Exactly.

Emma: Maybe it's an indictment on how cable news, in particular, has covered wars of American empires since the origin of 24-hour cable news.

Sam: The Times broadly. The Post. I mean all the major newspapers were you know completely in lockstep.

Matt: Even like The New Republic in those sorts of places.

Sam: Oh well The New Republic at that time was not the place to be citing. Believe me. But that's a good point but did you know that it's not just that's something like we might want to take a break from the regular schedule of programming and spend some time to figure out what the implications are where you could have 95 percent, and I think she's right, 95% of the White House press they can issue with this.

Emma: But you know what the conclusion of that is likely for a lot of members of the press is well it's just because we know what's going on.

Sam: Right we're a little savvier except for all the parts that are actually involved with this.

Emma: Except for the facts of how often we've been wrong and yet still arrogant.

Matt: It's hard to look savvy in the shadow of those images from the Kabul airport.

Sam: Yeah indeed well no but it was just like it's Brian's fault. But the weight that's right that's it right I mean that's exactly it the savvy is is that he screwed up.
