The Democrats played with fire and somehow didn't get burned. During the primaries, the Dems would run ads saying certain Republican candidates were too extreme. They did this with the intention of the GOP base voting for those candidates that would be weaker in a general election. And somehow it worked incredibly well in the midterms.

I want to address one thing too and hopefully, like the amount of sort of pre-recriminations for the Democratic strategy of you know the so-called Pied Piper strategy. that came up throughout the elections was bizarre. And I want people really to sort of like you know just put them on notice in the future. There is no strategy that in and of itself I think you can sort of dismiss outright or endorse outright. right I mean you got to really see how it's applied and it's situational it's contextual. but let's just go over this Pritzker helped sort of I guess like choose his opponent in the General election. yeah so he donated to the Democratic Governors Association they ran ads supporting Darren Bailey who became his opponent. and to be clear when we say supporting these are ads that could run in the general election against the Republican's right like Darren Bailey is dangerous for democracy. like voting for death. right. yeah, I mean people should understand this because I wonder if that got lost sometimes like would you like I can't believe they're spending money promoting well they're not really promoting. what they're doing is they're putting they're putting bait out there they're they're sort of like spraying they're using the same almost the exact same ads they'll use in the general. but they're deploying them in the primary because no they know it attracts the most marginal of Republican voters. Wes Moore was the first African-American governor of Maryland. only the third black governor in the history of the country right? one in Maryland and they elevated Dan Cox in the same manner. Dan Cox is too extreme for Maryland. and then the Republican voters like that's my guy Joe Gibbs in Michigan. same deal. and this is one that garnered the most attention. Democrats Joe Gibbs is too extreme for Michigan. and here's the thing about that they did the same thing with Bolduc in the senate race up in New Hampshire and Shapiro did the same thing with Mastriano. now think about this you got Mastriano you got bull duck you got Gibbs this is helping not just within those races but globally.
